A Volunteer Program Tailored to the Exhibition
We developed the volunteer program with the specific characteristics of the exhibition and the venue in mind. artNESZ is responsible for designing the volunteer concept, recruiting and selecting participants, training them, and coordinating the program. The concept goes beyond traditional exhibition supervision: it simultaneously supports the operational implementation of the project, enhances the visitor experience, and fosters the development of the next generation of professionals in the cultural sector. In addition to tasks that support the exhibition’s operations, it offers genuine professional experience to those who wish to become more familiar with the world of contemporary visual arts.
Through its volunteer program, the artNESZ Fine Arts Agency helped organize the successful Night of Artworks Festival. (MÉF) for the sixth time this year.
Organized by műtárgy.com and held from May 14–16, 2026, the festival is a special event for art enthusiasts. Over the three days of MÉF, visitors gained insight into the inner workings of museums, galleries, studios, and art spaces through more than 120 programs at approximately 70 venues.
On March 27, 2026, representing Volunteer Art Programs (VAP), we attended the Önkéntes Szemle (Volunteering Review) Conference, hosted by the Empathy Community Space in Budapest. The conference took place in a particularly timely context, providing an opportunity for celebration, reflection, and future outlook.
3 days, 42 art venues – nearly 1,000 participants – 12 different art walking routes – 7 extra programs – 5 invited guests – this is how the third ART WEEKEND BUDAPEST can be summed up in numbers.
During the festival, held on the first weekend of Advent, institutional exhibition spaces, contemporary galleries, studios, and alternative exhibition spaces participating in the program opened their doors to the general public. There were many individual visitors, but more people than ever before chose to take part in the one-and-a-half to two-hour art walks, which took place every day from Friday to Sunday at different times and along different routes.
On Manna FM's morning show Real Women, Eszter Őry talked about the role and possibilities of volunteering in contemporary art. One of artNESZ's most important activities is helping the platform Volunteer art programs-about, in a really good mood! Thank you very much to Kriszta Argyelán, Éva Pálfi, Babett Köllő and Radio Manna FMWatch with love!
On October 19, 2023, it opened its doors to the public for the 13th time. With nearly 100 exhibitors from nearly 30 countries and 50 professional and social events, Art Market Budapest is a traditional and popular fixture on the European art calendar. Despite the challenges of recent years, it has served art lovers without interruption for 12 years.
The Night of Artworks Festival was held for the seventh time, mostly at venues in Budapest. ArtNesz was delighted to assist with volunteer organization, sponsor partner management, and event coordination again this year.
The twelfth edition of Art Market Budapest – Central and Eastern Europe's leading international contemporary art fair – took place between October 6 and 9, 2022, once again at Bálna Budapest, offering visitors a particularly rich selection of art. Hungary's largest annual contemporary art and photography event welcomed exhibitors from nearly 30 countries, presenting thousands of works by more than 500 artists.
SUSTAINABILITY THROUGH THE POWER OF ART
The three-day event took place on May 26-27-28, 2022, in Budapest, at 46 venues. Those interested could choose from 95 programs.
The eleventh Art Market Budapest took place between October 7 and 10, 2021, at a new venue, the Bálna Budapest building, offering visitors a particularly rich selection of art. Our agency has been working with the AMB fair organizing team for three years now, mainly in the coordination of the volunteer program, the promotion of the Inside Art conference, and in the areas of partner relations (business, media, educational institutions) and fundraising.
For the second time, our agency organized Gallery Weekend Budapest on the third weekend of June 2021, commissioned by and in collaboration with the Association of Contemporary Galleries. As part of the seventh GWB event series, we used contemporary art to break out of our confinement and open up the side of our personalities that helped us deepen our self-expression. Gallery Weekend Budapest once again treated art lovers and those new to art to special, free exhibitions and programs. During the three-day event, 35 gallery tours and five extra programs (guided tours by artists and curators, contemporary dance performances) awaited nearly 1,000 visitors. The exhibitions and programs featured 329 works by 51 artists in 14 leading contemporary private galleries in Budapest. It provided 29 volunteers with the opportunity to gain experience and insight into the world of galleries and the background of the organization. A new feature of the festival was that visitors could view the exhibitions and programs on Friday, i.e., for three days, as well as the pop-up exhibition entitled Openness, which was presented at the VIP opening.
In 2021, our agency participated in the 5th Night of Art Festival held between June 17 and 19 on behalf of műtárgyak.com. We recruited volunteers for the festival programs and coordinated their work during the preparation and the three days of the event. We worked with 22 volunteers, who participated in more than 50 locations and approximately 100 programs. In addition to the volunteer program, we participated in the process of finding and coordinating sponsors, as well as in the organization of press and VIP events.
