Art Weekend Budapest 2025

Full-house art walks at ART WEEKEND BUDAPEST

3 days, 42 art venues – nearly 1,000 participants – 12 different art walking routes – 7 extra programs – 5 invited guests – this is how the third ART WEEKEND BUDAPEST can be summed up in numbers.

During the festival, held on the first weekend of Advent, institutional exhibition spaces, contemporary galleries, studios, and alternative exhibition spaces participating in the program opened their doors to the general public. There were many individual visitors, but more people than ever before chose to take part in the one-and-a-half to two-hour art walks, which took place every day from Friday to Sunday at different times and along different routes.

"Some people traveled from the countryside to participate in the event, and others had to choose a different walk because we had to close registration for their chosen route due to it being fully booked," said Eszter Őry, professional director of ArtNESZ Fine Arts Agency, the event organizer. "We received a lot of positive feedback about the themes of the walking tours. On each walk, participants were able to glimpse into the artist's creative space, an alternative exhibition space, and visit a gallery. They were able to experience the same world from different perspectives."

This year, for the first time, corporate collections were also presented at the festival in the STRABAG ART and KPMG exhibitions: the exhibition Zones of Opacity from the STRABAG ART collection came to AWB directly from Vienna. The exhibition, curated by Krisztián Gábor Török, can be viewed until January 9, 2026, at the Brody House exhibition space at 10 Bródy Sándor Street, where the AWB organizers will hold several guided tours in the coming weeks.
