Exhibition by Enikő Czigány
The exhibition was open to visitors between September 15 and October 6, 2023, at the Deák Palace (1052 Budapest, Deák Ferenc utca 15.).
The curator of the exhibition, Lilla Boros, stated the following:
Immersed in everyday life, we tend to be limited by our own blinders and dive into familiar activities from familiar perspectives. Falling into the trap of our own limitations is not a challenge, but rather a comfort. On the other hand, changing our perspective and marveling at the world from multiple angles requires work and energy. However, if we take this step for ourselves, our environment becomes much more exciting and expansive.
Enikő Czigány's exhibition, Perspective, opens up a new space for viewers, offering a rarely seen viewpoint and an opportunity to interpret our environment and ourselves within a new system.
We perceive and shape the world around us primarily from within, as part of the landscape. We are part of the landscape, we walk in the forest, we lie in the clearing, we swim in the water, our experiences and perspectives are created in space. However, thanks to technological advances, we have gained a new perspective, a bird's-eye view. Viewing the world from a bird's-eye view provides a broader perspective in which we can discover systems and abstract forms, a huge, living organism in which everything that surrounds us strives for life and survival in a rhythm dictated by nature and in cohesion. To quote the artist: "From the beginning of my career, I have been fascinated by the admirable harmony between geometric forms and organic landscapes. Human food production activities and the division of land as a form of property have drawn peculiar geometric patterns on the Earth's surface, the complexity of which has always amazed me. The spectacle is undoubtedly multi-layered, unique and universal, and it is constantly renewed with the changing seasons, so the rhythmic undulations of plowed, fallow, sprouting, or even harvest-bearing land have become an inexhaustible source of inspiration for me."
Czigány Enikő látszólag absztrakt módon, mégis a valódi látványt megörökítve tárja elénk a tájat, amiben élünk, amit formálunk.
It is a challenge on a human scale to take in the thousands of aspects of our environment. The exhibition Perspective opens up the possibility of discovering a new perspective, of interpreting ourselves and our environment in a different, often playful and creative way.
The exhibition was created with the support of the National Cultural Fund.
At the opening of the exhibition, we had the opportunity to taste sparkling wines from the Carla sparkling wine house in Etyek.
The event was promoted by the Well agency.
